Contributions and refunds

This page covers crowdfunding support collected through the public landing site at sparksomethingreal.com. It is not legal advice. Counsel may refine these terms before checkout opens publicly.
What a contribution is
Contributions are voluntary crowdfunding support for building and operating Embr infrastructure. They are:
- Not tax-deductible donations
- Not investments, equity, tokens, or a promise of ownership
- Not payment for a specific product SKU or prepaid service credit
Payments are processed by Stripe. Embr does not store full card numbers on this site.
Before you pay
You can leave Stripe Checkout at any time before completing payment. No charge is made until Stripe confirms a successful payment.
After you pay
Successful contributions appear on your card or payment method statement via Stripe. Stripe emails a receipt when configured on the Payment Link.
Public fundraising totals on the landing page are updated from our records of confirmed contributions. Individual contributor names and emails are not published.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled case by case while crowdfunding is early-stage.
- Email creator-support@embr.app with the email used at checkout, approximate amount, and date.
- We aim to respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method.
- Duplicate charges, clear processing errors, and unauthorized payments will be refunded when we can verify them.
- Because contributions fund ongoing infrastructure work, completed voluntary contributions are otherwise non-refundable except where we agree otherwise or where required by law.
Chargebacks and bank disputes follow your card issuer’s process and Stripe’s dispute flow. Contact us first when possible so we can resolve the issue without a dispute.
Cancellations
There is no recurring subscription on these Payment Links today. Each contribution is a one-time payment. “Cancellation” means abandoning checkout before pay, or requesting a refund after pay under the refund section above.
If the campaign changes
The $25,000 figure is a planning goal, not a hard escrow or all-or-nothing threshold. Allocation across hosting, media, payments, safety, and launch work may change as costs firm up. If we stop accepting contributions, we will say so on the landing page and on Threads @embr.
Owner decisions still open
Before treating this page as final counsel-approved policy, confirm: automatic refund window (if any), jurisdiction-specific consumer rules, and whether any contribution tiers include non-cash acknowledgments.
